Celebrate San Diego Golf Day with
the Southern California PGA

The Southern California PGA is bringing golf to the City of San Diego on Wednesday, November 20 in celebration of the PGA of America’s Annual Meeting. San Diego PGA Professionals will be providing free golf lessons at the Balboa Park Festival on the Presidents Way Lawn at Balboa Park from 1-5pm. The activity is part of the Southern California PGA (SCPGA) Section’s Player Development program called Neighborhood Golf.

The celebration will be throughout the city, with Interim Mayor Todd Gloria proclaiming November 20, 2013 “San Diego Golf Day”. Local PGA golf facilities will be joining the celebration by offering free group golf lessons or 2-for-1 range fees. PGA of Southern California President, Jeff Johnson commented, “I have watched with enthusiasm as PGA Golf Professionals share the joy of golf with all who are interested.  Especially so through our Neighborhood Golf Program. The dedicated voice of PGA Members in our communities is among the most powerful in reaching children and sharing the life enhancing skills the game of golf provides.”

The SCPGA Neighborhood Golf program brings golf to the neighborhoods of Southern California and provides free golf lessons for all. With the help of over 1,700 men and women working as PGA Professionals, the SCPGA seeks to interest people in the game of golf who may not have been exposed to the game otherwise. From an event, participants transition to a local PGA golf facility where they can continue on their journey to learning the game of golf.
